stitch fix #4

so, i got stitch fix #3 and didn't like any of it.  i was so disappointed and upset about what i received, i immediately returned all the items without taking any pictures.  sometimes i'm a little dramatic..

annnnnnnnd sticking to my drama, i wrote a hateful review.  oops..  but i mostly just said that i felt like no one was looking at my pinterest board nor reading my requests.  such as in fix #3 i had requested a burgundy scarf and in turn received a red and white patterned flatter than a pancake scarf.  what???  i'm remotely frustrated with my fixes as i have posted before.  they're not much of a special occasion box as some have stated.  as in my experience, i never get what i request.  so, i pointed out some youtube videos where i liked their fixes as well as requested them to look at my pins and i feel like this fix is more on track with what i like.  but it's still a work in progress.

so, lets get in to stitch #4

if you haven't ever heard of stitch fix, they are a subscription that basically assigns a stylist to you that picks out 5 different pieces of clothing and mails them to you for $20.  you get to try on the clothes and decide if you want to keep them.  if you do, then you keep however many pieces and stitch fix will charge you the cost of the clothes minus your $20 you paid to get the box.  the items you don't want, you place in a prestamped bag and mail it back usps to them.  during checkout you can state what you loved/hated about each item.  if you buy all 5 items, you get a 25% discount and you still subtract your $20.  you get 3 days to try on and decide before they expect you to check out.

your clothes comes in a box.  and is neatly packaged.  inside your clothes will be nicely folded and wrapped in tissue paper.  there will be a prestamped bag for your returns and a card stating what's in the box, how to pair it with other items you may have in your closet and a cost sheet.

what i learned from returning everything in my 3rd fix, you lose your $20 if you don't buy anything.  which sucks.  so keep that in mind if you get stitch fix and end up not liking anything.

Market & Spruce Lana Lace Detail V Neck Blouse $58 - Kept

i ended up keeping this top.  very random.  but when i first pulled it of the box and tried it on i felt like it felt like sheet material?  like i was crawling back in to bed..  it was a little weird of a fabric and after getting it on i fell in love with it.  i love the fit that covers both lady regions.  i love that i can throw a blazer on it for work or wear with leggings on the weekends.  it's the perfect versatile piece that i crave for my closet!

Papermoon Redan Zipper Detail Knit Top $44 - Kept

this top is life.  i love that it's black.  i love that the material is stretchy.  hard to see but there are seems that go from the sleeves down the middle of your breasts to the bottom of the shirt.  it gives the illusion that i have a shape!  the back has a half zip gold zipper in the middle.  love the little detail.  it's not a perfect peplum shirt.  but it does flair out at the waist to give it the peplum feel.  i literally wore this for mine and matt's date night the day i got this fix.  perfect!

Papermoon Carlottia Cut Out Back Top $44 - Returned
i really like this top.  so much so that i already have one just like it in my closet.  so back it goes :( the top i have in my closet is the exact same color and oversize look as this. however, it's cotton and this one is a more see through material with the cool back detail.  matt wouldn't let me keep it since i already have one just like it.. (he's trying to keep me on a budget.  i'm not a happy girl about it..)

Daniel Rainn Amaru Floral Underlay Blouse $68 - Returned
let's talk about depression.  i had to return this adorable top because $68 is a little much.  i reallllllllllly wanted to keep it.  and i did have it as 'kept' in my checkout but i had to go back and change it to return :( (why does matt curse me with being responsible!?) i really like the faux layering.  i love the floral detail.  i love the black overlay.  i love you can see the flowers through it.  i love this top.  love love love.  but my wallet needed a break since we're so close to wedding day and more important things need to go in the budget than this beautiful top.  waaaaaaaaaah!

Pixley June Polka Dot Skirt $58 - Returned
this skirt is adorable.  however, i already have a few pencil skirts that i never wear in my closet.  my job is business casual.  like if i wore heels and a skirt people would think i had something wrong with me.  i mostly just wear slacks or skinny jeans.  so it's very rare that i wear skirts/dresses.  i did like the pattern.  the material is stretchy so i didn't feel like i couldn't walk around in the skirt.  however, it didn't do much for my body shape nor would i wear it enough to justify buying it.  so back it went.

overall if i would have bought the entire fix at $272 - 25% discount of $68 - $20 stitch fee = $184.00
however, i just purchased the two tops and instead i spent $102 - $20 stitch fee = $82

i realllllllllllllly enjoyed this stitch fix.  i felt like majority of the pieces were totally my style.  including the item i already had in my closet.  i really enjoyed this box this time and i had a really hard time deciding what to send back.  i wish my budget would have allowed me to keep the 3 tops i absolutely love but alas being an adult is hard some times :(
